Burbank Housing Corporation (BHC) is proud to announce its plans for "The Village at Fairview," BHC’s very first Low-Income Tax Credit Development. This development project represents a significant step forward in BHC's mission to create affordable housing opportunities for the community of Burbank.

Located at 2321-2335 North Fairview Street, the project brings together four contiguous parcels of land totaling 28,000 square feet to create a beautiful new community. Once complete, "The Village at Fairview" will provide 60 affordable housing units, serving households ranging from "Extremely Low" to "Lower" income. Of these, 15 units will be designated as permanent supportive housing for homeless families with children. These units will be fully furnished through donations from community partners.

The all-electric, environmentally friendly building will feature a craftsman design, including a three-story structure with a stepped-back partial fourth story and a subterranean parking lot offering 60 spaces with EV chargers. The project also incorporates a variety of amenities to support families, including a 1,100-square-foot community room, office space for an on-site service provider offering case management services, and a property management office for an on-site manager. Outdoor spaces will include a dedicated "tot lot" play area and an exercise equipment area to encourage active and healthy lifestyles for families.

The new homes in "The Village at Fairview" are thoughtfully designed to accommodate various family sizes, with the development offering 23 one-bedroom units, 22 two-bedroom units, 12 three-bedroom units, and three four-bedroom units. Burbank Housing Corporation plans to break ground on construction in April 2026, bringing this ambitious vision closer to reality.

As a $46 million development, "The Village at Fairview” has already received a state allocation of $2 million supported by Senator Portantino’s 2023-2024 budget. Additionally, BHC has partnered with Homes and Hope, an experienced affordable housing builder with over 20 years of knowledge and expertise in tax credit housing. Homes and Hope will be helping BHC secure over $30 million dollars in state and federal funding, grants, and other affordable housing resources.

“‘The Village at Fairview’ is a testament to our ongoing commitment to addressing the critical need for affordable housing in Burbank,” stated Sylvia Moreno, BHC Executive Director. “This development is more than just housing. It’s a community where families can find stability, access supportive services, and thrive. We are excited to bring this vision to life and ensure that every family who calls ‘The Village at Fairview’ home has the opportunity to build a brighter future.”

BHC is not currently accepting applications for its Low-Income Waiting Lists. However, the "Extremely Low," "Very Low", and "Lower" Income Waiting Lists will reopen in July 2025. For more details, visit our Annual Waiting List Update.

BHC manages a joint waiting list for all its affordable housing properties. No specific unit or building requests are allowed. Placement on the waiting list does not guarantee immediate housing, with an average wait time of 2–5 years.
