Learn about Upcoming Openings! Every January, Burbank Housing Corporation (BHC) publicly announces the status of its closed waiting lists for the coming year.
Burbank Housing Corporation operates a waiting list system to fill all of its vacancies. Our Affordable Housing Program has four waiting lists that are categorized by income level.
Extremely Low Income: ≤30% of Area Median Income (AMI)
Very Low Income: ≤50% of AMI
Lower Income: ≤80% of AMI
Moderate Income: ≤120% of AMI
The income and rent requirements are established by the State of California for Los Angeles County.
Extremely Low Income Waiting List
Every year, BHC conducts a waiting list audit to determine if any of our closed waiting lists have the capacity to reopen and accept new applicants.
After our waiting list audit was conducted, BHC determined that its “Extremely Low” Income Waiting List will not reopen in 2023. Our organization will not have any further updates on the "Extremely Low" Income Waiting List until January 2024.
Very Low & Lower Income Waiting List Lottery
Burbank Housing Corporation will be reopening the application process for the "Very Low" & "Lower" Income Waiting List Lottery in February 2023. Applications will be accepted only online via our website: www.burbankhousingcorp.org/2023lottery
The 2023 BHC Waiting List Lottery is specifically for households that qualify for "Very Low" and "Lower" Income, 31-80% of the area median income. View our flyer for more information regarding the income requirements: Click Here
The lottery application will be available on our website starting Monday, February 13, 2023 at 9:00 am PST until Monday, February 27, 2023 at 4:00 pm PST. Late applications will not be accepted under any circumstance.
The "Very Low" & "Lower" Income Waiting List Lottery will have a two-week open application process. Starting February 13th at 9:00 am PST, interested applicants may visit our website to fill out our online lottery application. As long as the application is submitted no later than February 27, 2023 by 4:00 pm PST, there is no advantage in submitting the application first.
After the February 27th deadline, a random lottery will be conducted with all eligible households. A limited number of applicants will be randomly selected and placed at the bottom of the BHC Waiting List. Households that are not drawn during our waiting list lottery will need to reapply whenever the list reopens.
If you are a person with a disability and require a reasonable accommodation to complete the application, please contact our office when the application process opens. The opportunity to apply for the Burbank Housing Corporation’s Affordable Housing Program is offered without regard to race, color, national origin, sex, religion, ancestry, genetic information, source of income, age, marital status, familial status, sexual orientation or preference, gender identity, or disability, or any other basis prohibited by law.
Moderate Income Waiting List
The “Moderate” Income Waiting List remains open year-round and is currently accepting applications. Households that qualify may visit our How to Apply page to download the Moderate waiting list application. The application process for the Moderate Income Waiting List is different and separate from the low-income levels.
